Mia Thomson has delivered an outstanding 2025 season and is firmly established as one of New Zealand’s leading junior middle-distance athletes. Competing across the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m, she has shown impressive range, a strong aerobic engine, and composed race execution. A proven championship performer, Mia has successfully completed multiple 1500m/3000m doubles at both regional and national level, consistently delivering under pressure. Her 2026 move into the AIM Performance Development (APD) pathway reflects a clear commitment to structured training and long-term progression. Early signs under the AIM system show rapid adaptation and stronger execution, with continued improvements in cadence, speed control, and race intelligence.
